hand needle felting wool painting
Hand needle felted wool painting. “Surf's Up!" captures the moment a magnificent wave breaks high over the surrounding water. There are many shades of blue, teal and white wool and silk fibers used, which are accentuated by a white wood frame (13x16). This wool painting has a completely finished back with a dust cover and picture wire and is ready for hanging.
Needle felting is a totally dry process in which loose wool fibers are repeatedly stabbed into a background using special small barbed needles. The constant movement tangles the fibers firmly into position. Framed without glass to enhance the texture, it requires no special care -- simply an occasional flick of a microfiber duster.
