Bluebird. Needle felted onto 100% wool felt, this colorful bird is framed in an 8" hoop and has a loop for hanging. The hoop has been lightly stained and the back is finished with heavy felt.
Needle felting is a totally dry process in which loose, dyed wool fibers are repeatedly stabbed into a background using special small barbed needles. The constant movement tangles the fibers firmly into position. Framed without glass to enhance the texture, it requires no special care -- simply an occasional flick of a feather or microfiber duster.
