Goldfinch. This colorful bird is needle felted onto 100% woolfelt and framed in an 8" embroidery hoop and finished on the back with stiff felt.
Needle felting is a totally dry process in which loose, dyed wool fibers are repeatedly stabbed into a background using special small barbed needles. The constant movement tangles the fibers firmly into position. Framed without glass to enhance the texture, it requires no special care -- simply an occasional flick of a microfiber duster.
