"Strawberry Season" is inspired by 19th c. botanical watercolors and is is worked on a background of 100% ivory wool felt. Framed in chestnut brown (10x10), it is ready to hang and has a completely finished back with dust cover and picture wire.
Needle felting is a totally dry process in which loose, dyed wool fibers are repeatedly stabbed into a background using special small barbed needles. The constant movement tangles the fibers firmly into position and provides wonderful texture. Framed without glass to enhance the texture, it requires no special care -- simply an occasional flick of a microfiber duster.
