Aurora IV. Many shades of wool batt and roving were used to create this colorful night view. It is needled on two layers of wool felt and is float framed on acid free foam core with a fabric covered backing. The frame is deep enough to be displayed on a mantel or shelf or it can be hung on the wall. Measurement is 9x9.
Needle felting is a totally dry process in which loose, dyed wool fibers are repeatedly stabbed into a background using special small barbed needles. The constant movement tangles the fibers firmly into position. Framed without glass to enhance the texture, it requires no special care -- simply an occasional flick of a microfiber duster.
